Return Policy

Accessory items that are unopened and unused may be returned within 14 days of the date purchased. When a qualifying item is returned, we will refund the cost of the item plus sales tax, minus shipping/handling costs incurred by Bellingham Wind Works. Unopened and unused items may be exchanged for a similar item of the same cost. Any item that is not returned in the condition in which it was received or has obvious signs of use may not be eligible for a refund.

Sheet music is generally not returnable. Exceptions can be made if the wrong music was purchased by accident and Bellingham Wind Works is notified within 7 days. Sheet music that was specially ordered, including music arrangements, are not returnable.

Purchased brand new musical instruments may be returned within 14 days of the date received, and purchased used and vintage musical instruments may be returned within 7 days of the date received. Instruments marked 'Sold As-Is' may not be returned. If your item qualifies and you would like to request a return, please contact us.

Bellingham Wind Works does not accept returns of the following items unless defective:

  • Instrument bell covers or musician masks
  • Oboe and bassoon reeds
  • Opened boxes of woodwind reeds
  • Kazoos, recorders, wood flutes, and harmonicas
  • Books that have been written in
  • Clearance or reduced price sale items
  • Special order merchandise
  • Gift certificates and gift cards

A copy of the original sale invoice (store or printed online order receipt) will be required when returning items as proof of purchase.

When returning merchandise, please follow these guidelines:

  • Returned item(s) can be brought to Bellingham Wind Works during business hours or shipped via UPS, Fedex, or U.S. Postal Service.
  • Return in original packing material when possible.
  • Enclose the invoice or packing slip that came with your order and a note stating why you are returning the item(s). This will help us process your return more efficiently.
  • We recommend using a shipping service that offers tracking and insurance; Bellingham Wind Works is not responsible if your return gets lost in transit.

Bellingham Wind Works will pay the return shipping costs if the return is a result of our error (for example, you received an incorrect item). In all other instances, the customer will incur any shipping cost required to return accessories or instruments to Bellingham Wind Works. Any discrepancies between what you ordered and what you received must be reported within 14 days after receiving the item; we cannot honor any claims made after that time. If an item appears to have been damaged during shipment, please retain all packing materials, as the carrier may need to inspect them.

You should expect to receive your refund within 7 business days from when Bellingham Wind Works receives the returned item; however, in many cases you will receive a refund more quickly. Refunds for credit card purchases must be applied to the same card that was used to make the purchase. If you used a gift certificate or gift card to pay for all or part of an item you want to return, you will be sent a gift certificate or gift card in the amount of the refund, to be used toward a future purchase.
